Darshan hours, phone numbers and rules come from each temple’s official website and were checked in October 2026. Hours change for festivals and seasons, so check the temple’s site or call before you travel.

  • Dress modestlyCover shoulders and knees. Many temples lend a wrap or shawl at the door.
  • Shoes offLeave footwear on the racks before the shrines; some temples ask you to wash your feet too.
  • Phones and photosSilence your phone. Most temples forbid photos of the sanctum, so ask first.
  • OfferingsDon’t touch the murtis. Flowers, fruit and donations go to the counter or the priest.
  • PrasadTake prasad and tirtha in your right hand, and eat it rather than throw it away.
  • FoodBring no meat, eggs or alcohol. Many temples don’t allow outside food at all.
