इतिहास History
Minnesota's Hindus first gathered in an 1897 Episcopal church they bought in 1978, when the community was only a handful of families; the first Ganesha murti was installed there in 1983. As the community grew it bought 80 acres of farmland in Maple Grove, and construction began in 2003.
The temple came into use in 2006 and held its grand opening in June 2009, when its 65-foot Divine Gateway, hand-carved by artisans from India, was consecrated. With 19 shrines in one prayer hall, its president called it 'a microcosm of India'.
