इतिहास History
New Vrindaban was founded in 1968, with the guidance of A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, on wooded hills near Moundsville, and named after Krishna's Vrindavan in India. The Sri Sri Radha Vrindaban Chandra Temple is the heart of the community and the first stop for most pilgrims.
Devotees began building a residence for Prabhupada in 1973; after his passing in 1977 it became his memorial, and Prabhupada's Palace of Gold was dedicated on 2 September 1979. Built largely by volunteers who learnt the crafts as they went, it was restored from 2011 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2019.
